Friday was our last day of classes at ACS. Today I gave two exams. One in 10th grade and one in 11th grade. These are serious exams. They started at 9am and many students were still working on them at 11:15 am when the test period ends.
This afternoon I had lunch and then procrastinated a little bit by lingering over my lunch and eating my dessert really, really slowly. Then I graded 35+ Macbeth final projects. After that I graded 40% of the 11th grade essays. At 3:30pm I checked my email for the first time all day.
I thought about starting the vocab section of the 10th grade essays but decided that was just crazy.
Now I am supposed to be grading 10th grade research projects. I am on the five-a-day plan. It’s kind of like the five-a-day for fruits and vegetables. It’s good for you, it makes you feel better when you do it but some days it’s harder than other days to eat your veggies.
I am happy to report the five-a-day plan for the fruits and veggies was no problem. However the five-a-day research paper goal doesn’t look like it’s going to happen today. I can’t stop yawning and my bed seems to be calling my name.
Oh well. These things happen sometimes. Luckily, I’ve got the better part of a week and a half to finish up my grading, finalize my semester and year end grades, write my comments, clean up my classroom and get ready for my summer adventure in Scandinavia.
